Orkney and Shetland bands cook up a Musical Feast

Pop-rock bandits, Big Time Quell, are just on of 11 acts from across Orkney and Shetland that are set to perform at the Musical Feast on July 1.

If you’re hungry for a peedie slice of live music to keep you going between summer festivals, look no further.

Saturday, July 1, brings Orkney Live Wire and Heavy Metal Buffet’s Musical Feast — a selection of folk, rock, and hip hop treats — live at the Standing Stones Hotel, Stenness.

Kicking off at 2pm, this collaboration between the organisers of Orkney Rock Festival and Shetland Rock Festival will see a veritable smorgasbord of acts from both counties entertain midsummer revellers into the early hours.

The line-up set to include performances from funk-rockers, Cosmic Soup and pop-rock bandits, Big Time Quell; followed by classic hip hop and soul from DJ Lyall Halcrow, and topped off with a finely-tuned blend of heavy metal vibes and wild bravado from Electric Mother.

This all-day Musical Feast event is open to all ages, with tickets available on the door and all proceeds going towards the Orkney Deaf Children’s Society and the RNLI.

The full line-up can be found by following Orkney Live Wire and Heavy Metal Buffet on Facebook.
