Pier water storage plans progress

Councillors have been updated on plans to provide water storage and supply facilities at Hatston Pier.

The OIC say that the aim is to meet the needs of the growing number of vessels using the pier. These include vessels from the renewables and offshore supply sectors, as well as cruise liners, members of the policy and resources committee were told this week, in a section of the meeting which was held in private.

A further update will be provided to councillors as the project develops, and it is hoped that the new facility will be in place by the Spring of next year, said an OIC statement.
