Promotion-chasing Glasgow Accies see off Orkney RFC

Orkney RFC lost 12-29 to Glasgow Academicals this afternoon in BT National League Division 3.

In a usually late kick-off of 4.30pm, the visitors made a blistering start to the match, scoring two tries in the opening ten minutes on their way to a three-try first 40 minutes.

Orkney replied through Kevin Pepper to make the score at the break 5-17.

The visitors stretched their lead in the second half, with Orkney’s seven second half points coming from a David Hamilton try, which was converted by Danny Bain.

The result means Orkney remain in eighth, two points above Dalziel who have played three games more, and nine points behind RHC who won 105-0 against Greenock Wanderers.
