Scottish Water starts next phase of Stromness work
Work to reduce pollution risk from the existing waste water network in Stromness is set to enter its third phase. The £10 million Scottish Water project aims to reduce the risk of pollution to the surrounding recreational waters in Stromness Harbour.
According to Scottish Water, the planning application for the work is due to be submitted shortly and an information event will be held in October to provide confirmed details of the program of works, with invitations being sent to all customers.
The third phase of the project consists of five packages of work, starting with work to collect five waste water discharges from the south side of Stromness and transferring them to Scottish Water’s waste water treatment works at Bu Point.
