Scottish Youth Parliament election results due this afternoon

The results of Orkney’s Scottish Youth Parliament elections will be announced in the Council Chamber today at 4.30pm.

Two of the potential candidates will be declared as Orkney’s new MSYPs, the announcement being made by OIC chief executive, Alistair Buchan.

The five candidates standing for election are Hamish Auskerry from Kirkwall, Euan Loudon from from Deerness, Thorfinn Moffat from Shapinsay, Samuel Murray from Deerness and Iona Torbet from Kirkwall.
