Sentence deferred on car-crash drink-driver
A drink-driver, who crashed into two parked cars while four-and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit, has had his sentence deferred for reports.
Appearing from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court this afternoon, 34-year-old Kevin Alexander MacAngus, of Lochslin Place, Balintore, Ross and Cromarty, pleaded guilty to driving a car on New Scapa Road, Kirkwall, with 153mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the 35mcg limit.
The court heard that MacAngus hit a parked car on the road before pulling into a driveway and hitting another parked car.
Procurator fiscal Sue Foard said that the incident happened at about 8pm yesterday, Thursday.
Deferring sentence until November 5, Honorary Sheriff Tim Wright said: “You were four-and-a-half times over the legal limit. You can expect a long period of disqualification.”
MacAngus was released on bail and was also disqualified from driving until the next calling of the case.
