Silver Sunday at Picky
Tomorrow, Sunday, the Pickaquoy Centre is hosting a day of free fun activities for anyone over the age of 60, as part of the national “Silver Sunday” celebrations.
“Silver Sunday” is a national event that takes place every year in the UK and aims to celebrate the value and knowledge that older people contribute to our communities, while combating loneliness and isolation.
As part of the event, the centre has a number of free activities planned, including free swimming and health suite, indoor bowls and badminton and a showing of the classic film, Singin’ in the Rain at 10.30am.
“We are delighted to be taking part in such a fantastic event, allowing us to show our appreciation of the older generation,” said Jenni Banks, of the Pickaquoy Centre.
