Stromness Lifeboat called to grounded fishing vessel

Stromness Lifeboat was called out to pull a local creel boat off the rocks in Scapa Flow this morning.

The Stromness fishing boat Shalimar had two crew onboard at the time of the incident, which occurred off Houton Head, with Shetland Coastguard informed just after 8.30am.

The local dive boats Valkyrie, Radiant Queen and Halton stood by the vessel as she was towed off around 9am.

Alex Dodge from Shetland Coastguard said that their appeared to be no damage to the Shalimar as a result of the incident, and the creel boat returned to fishing.
