Orkney Islands Council is advising that people may be experiencing problems when phoning the local authority.

If you experience difficulties getting through to the Council, you could try sending an email to customerservice@orkney.gov.uk instead.

Alternatively the following numbers are available if your business is urgent.

• For emergency repairs to council-owned housing and other council-owned properties, phone 873430
• For Orkney Health and Care, contact the Balfour Hospital on 888000
