Trad Award for music teacher

Orkney music teacher and musician, Douglas Montgomery has been named Music Tutor of the Year, at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, 2014.

The award was presented last night, at a glittering ceremony, held at the Inverness Leisure Centre, in the presence of many stars of the country’s thriving folk scene.

Douglas has been teaching fiddle in Orkney for over 20 years, and had expressed delight at his nomination for the award, which was based on public votes.  See full story in this week’s The Orcadian.
