To enable essential repairs to be carried out on the ferry Eynhallow, Orkney Ferries say that various sailings have been cancelled today, Wednesday.

The company says that it is hoped that sailings will resume in time for the 2.45 pm departure from Tingwall. Further details can be found on the company website.

Meanwhile on the South Isles routes, the OIC says that the Hoy Head suffered some minor damage to the underside of her forward area while sitting at a linkspan in bad weather earlier this week, and is currently in Stromness having what has been described as straightforward repairs carried out.

It’s expected the Hoy Head will be able to return to her usual runs later this week. Meantime the Thorsvoe is covering the Hoy Head’s usual sailings, and it is not expected the repairs will lead to any cancelled sailings.
