BID Hallowe'en Parade

Come along and join Kirkwall’s businesses as they celebrate Hallowe’en with a special spooky parade led by Kirkwall City Pipe Band, tomorrow, Saturday.

Starting at 3pm on Harbour Street, the parade will proceed up the street to St Magnus Cathedral. Look out for other gruesome activities throughout the town, including a neepie lantern hunt for the bairns.

Little ones might be out trick or treating, but there’s no reason adults can’s have a bit of Hallowe’en fun too.

If you fancy some live music and fancy dress, why not head down to the St Ola Hotel where they’ll be hosting local bands Razormouth and Angersay for a night of ghoulish grooving.

Fancy catching a flick, this weekend? There’s plenty on show at the Phoenix Cinema, Kirkwall.

For the kids, there’s the adventures of friendly yeti Migo in Smallfoot (U), showing throughout the weekend.

Meanwhile, the universe’s most lethal hunters are scarier and more dangerous than ever before in The Predator (15).On show, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it’s the perfect way to spend a gruesome Hallowe’en weekend.

Finally, on Sunday, you can catch a special showing of the Royal Opera House’s performance of Die Walkure. This opera by Richard Wagner is the second of his four works which comprise his famous ring cycle.
