The Ayre Hotel in Kirkwall has been put up for sale with an asking price of over £4.5 million.
Comprising of 51 en suite bedrooms and nine serviced apartments within a separate three storey building on the site, the property also includes a lounge bar, restaurant, conservatory and function and meeting rooms, plus it is fully equipped with ancillary areas including a commercial kitchen, wine cellar, laundry room, and office.
Currently owned by businessman Lyall Harray, it has been brought to the market through specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.
Stuart Drysdale, associate director at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “The Ayre Hotel is well established in Kirkwall and has been family owned and operated for a number of years.
“The mix of standard letting rooms and self-catering apartments provides a range of choice for the business and leisure traveller.
“The business trades exceptionally well and the addition of the nine apartments has led to a significant increase in both turnover and profitability.”
