Bodies found in Scapa Flow

Local divers have found two bodies in Scapa Flow, 40 metres from the wreck of the SMS Brummer.

A police spokesman said that inquiries were ongoing and that the bodies had not been recovered or formally identified. The Police Scotland Dive Unit are travelling to Orkney to assist.

Last month, two divers believed to be Dutch, were reported missing after diving on the wreck of the Brummer. Despite extensive searches of the Scapa Flow area the missing men were not located.

Police said that the families of the missing divers have been notified of the discovery.
