Children’s home extensively damaged by fire

Camoran children’s home, in Kirkwall, has been seriously damaged by fire.

The emergency services were alerted, just after midnight, by a member of staff at the Holm Road property.

A fire service spokesman confirmed this morning that four appliances attended the blaze, with firefighters remaining at the scene until around 9.30am.

At present, there are no details as to how the fire started. There are no reports of injuries.
