The champion sheep at today’s Dounby Show is a Cheviot ewe, shown by W. G. Kirkpatrick & Sons, Tandou, Stromness.

The three shear ewe, who had not been shown before was described by Cheviot judge Ronnie Baillie as a “very correct animal”.

Reserve went to Ivan Scott, from Finstown, for a Texel ewe lamb.

Rory Gregor, from Thainstone, Inverurie, judged the Texel section and found it difficult to choose between the Cheviot and the Texel as both were “tremendous animals.”
