Choir mark links between Orkney and Norway

A Norwegian choir, who crossed the North Sea in a converted fishing boat, are performing in St Magnus Cathedral tonight, Friday.

Twenty-two members of the Norwegian male-voice choir, Giske Mannskor, from Sunnmore,

The choir made the trip to mark the links between Orkney and Sunnmore — the area of Norway that was the home of several prominent families, including the great-grandfather of St Magnus.

They said the are  very much looking forward to singing in the cathedral this evening, at 7.30pm, where entry is by donation.
