The cruise ship AIDAluna adds a splash of colour to what has been a dull and wet summer so far here in Orkney.

The ship, which carries over 2000 passengers, is spending the day in Kirkwall today, Saturday.

The ship, with its distinctive paintwork, arrived from Kiel, Germany, and is also due to visit Iceland.
This was the first time a ship of the Aida line visited Orkney, as the islands continues to be the most popular destination for visiting cruise ships in the UK, with over 80 visits from such liners each summer, boosting the local economy.
