Destination Dounby leaflet launched
A new leaflet, touting all there is to see and do in Dounby, has been launched today.
The Destination Dounby leaflet, which has been launched by 12 of the village’s businesses, is aimed at visitors and locals in Orkney.
It contains a map, information on local businesses and outlines the local amenities available to anyone who might be considering staying in the area.
Fiona Mitchell, at Castaway Crafts, came up with the idea for the leaflet and said it comes in response to requests for information, with many shops being used as information points by tourists.
She said: “The leaflet has everything in it that people need to find out more about Dounby. Recently we’ve had a lot of folk coming into the shop and saying they didn’t realise how much was going on in the village and we thought this leaflet would let them find out more.”
Tonight, launch events for the leaflet are being held at Castaway Crafts and Alison Moore Designs, with both businesses staying open until 8pm. The Smithfield will also be running a launch event.
