A six-year-old Clydesdale mare took the championship in the horse section at this year’s East Mainland Show.

Shown by J.D. & D.M. Smith, Holburn, Holm Branch Road, Kirkwall, Downhill Snowflake was sired by Carnaff Ambassador and out of Garleton Betty.

Standing reserve overall was the champion Shetland Pony, Hools Janet, a mare shown by Kelly Peace of The Brough, Toab.

The three-year-old pony was sired by Wells Masterclass and out of the dam Merkisayre Poppy.
