Duke of Edinburgh to miss Jutland events following medical advice

Buckingham Palace have confirmed that Prince Philip will not be attending the Battle of Jutland commemoration ceremonies here in Orkney.

A spokesman for the Royal Family said: “Following doctors advice the Duke of Edinburgh has reluctantly decided not to attend the commemorative events marking the Battle of Jutland taking place in Kirkwall and Hoy.

“The Princess Royal, who was already attending the event will represent the Royal Family.”
