The counting of votes cast in Thursday’s European Election is due to get under way today, Sunday.

While the polls were open to voters on Thursday, because some European member states were not holding the election until today, Sunday, the Orkney votes are being held securely until the count begins in the OIC council chamber.

The local results will be declared at 10pm.

The national result will be announced tomorrow, Monday.
