Final reminder for electoral register

The final reminders are now out for the annual canvass for the register of electors.

Orkney’s electoral registration officer, Dennis Stevenson, is asking anyone who has not returned their form to do so as soon as possible.

He said: “If your name is not on the register you will not be able to vote in any elections and may also find it difficult to obtain credit or open a bank account.  Non-responders will be followed up with a door-to-door inquiry or a telephone reminder.”

Any household in Orkney which has not received a form, or needs a replacement form, should contact the Electoral Registration Office, at 8 Broad Street, Kirkwall, Tel: 876222 or e-mail ero@orkney.gov.uk
