Free sports taster sessions in Stromness this weekend

Free ‘have a go’ sports sessions are taking place this Saturday  from 11am to 4pm at the Stromness Academy, as part of a ‘Stromness Get Involved Day’ being held by Orkney Islands Council, Heriot Watt University and SportsScotland.

Sports taster sessions include golf, fencing, hockey, squash and volleyball. Also at the academy, at 1pm, a cooking demonstration by Orkney Zero Waste will provide tips and ideas for leftovers.

From 2-4pm, the Stromness Youth Club will be holding car boot sale in the Stromness Town Hall. Teas, coffee and soup will be available.

Various organisations will have information stalls on the day.
