Future of former Stromness schools out to consultation
Draft guidance on the future development of Stromness’s old academy and former primary school sites is available for public consultation.
The OIC is encouraging comment on a draft development brief for the two sites, which could be developed as the base for the proposed Orkney Research Campus.
The consultation period lasts until May 22, after which the document will be revised and presented to councillors for consideration in June.
OIC planning manager, Stuart West said: “It is important that interested parties take the time to read over the document and to provide their feedback at this early stage.
“At this time there are no definite schemes or plans for the site. The development brief will provide the framework for the development of future schemes. Once approved by the council, the adopted brief will be a material consideration for the determination of planning applications.”
