Grooves manager to guest on Radio 6

Orkney’s Stewart Bain was a guest on BBC Radio 6, this Wednesday morning.

If you tune into BBC Radio 6 tomorrow morning, Friday, you might hear a familiar-sounding voice broadcasting across the airwaves.

In the run up to Record Store Day, Stewart Bain — the manager of The Old Library, Kirkwall — will be Huw Stephens for the station’s breakfast slot.

Speaking about what Grooves — UK’s most northerly independent record store — has planned for the event, Stewart will also be given the opportunity to pick his Desert Island Disco tracks.

Record Store Day takes place, this Saturday, April 13. This will see record stores across the country present special edition merchandise and celebrate all things vinyl. Stewart explained that the Old Library have just unveiled a new and improved Grooves music section in time for the day.
