Justice Secretary due in Orkney this week

Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Michael Matheson, is due to visit Orkney on Friday to meet with a range of partner agencies working to make communities safer.

Mr Matheson said: “I am looking forward to visiting Shetland and Orkney and meeting a range of partners who are working to make communities safer, more resilient and offering invaluable support to victims of crime.

“I am grateful that so many people are taking the time to share their experience with me and how they deal with the challenges of protecting and serving the towns and villages on both islands and what more we can do to support people in Orkney and Shetland.”
