‘Living Orkney’ shortlisted again

Issue 120For the fifth time in its ten-year history, Living Orkney has been shortlisted for a PPA Scottish Magazine of the Year Award.

The monthly magazine – published by the Orkney Media Group – won the PPA Scottish Small Publishing Company Magazine of the year Award 2014, last December, and this year it has once again been nominated in the same category.

This year it will be competing against the Kinross Gazetteer, The Word On the Street, Menopause Matters, EB Living and Fusion Flowers, at the award ceremony, in Edinburgh, on December 16.

Living Orkney joint-editor John Ross Scott told The Orcadian: “While we are delighted that the quality of our work and the links Living Orkney has with its community are being celebrated again, we are under no illusion about our chances of winning for a second consecutive year. I believe this has only been achieved by Holyrood Magazine and The Big Issue.

“It is just great to be nominated, particularly in a year when Lorraine Shearer and I tried something different in running the magazine as joint editors. We are indebted to our contributors and faithful advertisers for their support over the past year. Without their backing the Living Orkney team would not be able to again fly the flag for Orkney at a national level.”
