New community testing clinic starting in Kirkwall tomorrow

A new weekly community testing clinic starts tomorrow, Tuesday, February 22, in Kirkwall, aimed at those who may be “still a bit nervous” about self testing for COVID-19.
Staff will be on hand to guide people through the process of using the tests, and how to report results. The kits used only require a nasal swab from each nostril, so no throat swabbing is involved.
The clinic will run in Room 2 of the Kirkwall and St Ola Community Centre and Town Hall, every Tuesday from 11am-1pm.
The Kirkwall clinic is in addition to the weekly clinic in Stromness each Thursday from 11am-midday, at the Warehouse Buildings (entry via Ferry Road).
These community testing clinics are a partnership between NHS Orkney, Voluntary Action Orkney (VAO) and Orkney Islands Council, supported by a grant from Scottish Government, and are aimed at helping enable community members play an active part in helping monitor infection in the community.
