Opus sets sights on United States

Plans to target the American market could see produced water specialist firm Opus expanding its operations in Orkney.

Opus has its headquarters in Guildford, Surrey, and testing/development facilities in Flotta.

Now, the company is targeting new markets in America, as part of its ambitious growth plans that will create new jobs and almost double the value of the environmental and ecotoxicology services carried out in Orkney.

The environmental and ecotoxicology work carried out in Flotta contributes around £600,000 to the company’s annual turnover. It is hoped the laboratory work can be increased to over £1 million in the next two to three years and create additional employment within the county.
