Orkney FC exit Football Times Cup

Following on from Orkney Rugby Club’s thirteen try demolition of Greenock Wanderers, Orkney footballers couldn’t make it double celebration for the county as a depleted squad fell to defeat against Lewis and Harris in the Football Times Cup.

The 2-0 defeat in Alness means that Orkney exit the competition at the first hurdle in only their second game of the season.

A number of call-offs for the fixture in Alness left Orkney short of numbers, however they went in at the break 0-0. Two second-half goals for the Western Islanders however, meant that the day ended in defeat for the footballers.
