Orkney gears up to welcome HRH Princess Royal
Final preparations are being put in place for the arrival of Princess Anne in Orkney.
Her Royal Highness will be in the county this Thursday for a number of engagements including the official opening of the new swimming pool and the new Stromness Primary School. She is also due to visit the Riding Centre in Kirkwall and the Gable End Theatre in Hoy.
Vice Lord-Lieutenant Bill Spence, who will accompany Princess Anne during her visit, said: “I’m looking forward very much to welcoming HRH to Orkney and to presenting to her some of the people who make this county such a fine place to live, work and to bring children up.”
“I’m also proud to show her the first-class facilities we enjoy in these islands at a time of year when Orkney is looking her best.”
