Dates for the 2016 Orkney Nature Festival have been released this week.

The local RSPB Scotland team, who coordinate the festival have announced that next year’s festival will take place from Monday, May 16 to Sunday, May 22.

Once again the festival will feature events from a variety of individuals, groups and business around Orkney, with more details of the programme available in the new year.

Last year’s five-day festival attracted over 600 participants with a programme that featured kayaking, rockpooling, wildlife photography, small boat trips, walks, talks, archaeology workshops and more. Details of last year’s festival can be found online at www.orkneynaturefestival.org.
