Orkney FC and Golspie Sutherland are set to go head-to-head this Saturday in a crucial match which could pivotal in the destination of the North Caledonian League title.

League leaders Halkirk visited Orkney last week requiring a single point to seal the league crown. However, an Erik Bews second-half strike sealed a deserved 1-0 victory for the islanders — a first victory over Halkirk in seven attempts — and maintained their 100 per cent home record this season.

The win means that a victory for second-placed Golspie on Saturday would force the league title race into a play-off match while the home side look likely to finish in fourth place in Charlie Alway’s first season in charge.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm at the KGS 3G pitch.
