Parish Cup heavyweights battle to victory in South Ronaldsay

In today’s The Orcadian Parish Cup ties, North Isles side Sanday secured a resounding 8-0 victory away to neighbours Stronsay to leave progress to the quarter-finals a mere formality.

Meanwhile in South Ronaldsay, 23-time winners Sandwick battled to a 2-1 victory over the South Isles side while Firth and Holm fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw to leave the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg.

Sunday will see defending champions Stromness take on Birsay in Dounby at 7pm with Rendall and Stenness set to face each other at 3pm at The Rockery.
