Police appeal following Kirkwall incidents

police scotland logoPolice are looking for information after a hit and run in Kirkwall.

Kirkwall Police say that between midnight and 1am on Sunday, December 6, a man was knocked down by a motor car whilst using the pedestrian crossing on Junction Road close to the Wireless Museum, with the man sustaining minor injuries.

The car, described as a white hatchback similar to a Honda Civic, failed to stop.

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone with any information that may assist in identifying the vehicle or its driver are requested to contact Kirkwall police station.

• Police have also issued an appeal for information after two thefts were reported in the Kirkwall area.

Between Saturday, December 5, and the following Monday, a mail package was stolen from a communal lobby of flats on Victoria Street.

Items were taken from a flat bed lorry trailer which was within the marshalling area of Hatston pier, Kirkwall.
