Police appeal for help to solve weekend spate of vandalism

Kirkwall police believe a spate of vandalism to cars and vehicle thefts around Orkney are not connected.

Between 8pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, June 30, a red Peugeot 206 car was taken from outside an address in Harray. The vehicle was subsequently recovered in Dounby but police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven at the time.

A Honda CRV vehicle was damaged at the Pierhead, Stromness between midnight and 2.15am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, between 11pm on Saturday and 11.50am on Sunday a Skoda Octavia car was damaged while parked in the Albert Street car park, Kirkwall.

Between 11pm on Saturday and 7am hours on Sunday a red Renault Megane was removed from the car park at the rear of the Quoyburray Inn, St Andrews. The vehicle has not been recovered.

A red Volkswagen Polo was damaged while parked at Shearer’s Filing Station, Kirkwall on Sunday night or the early hours of Monday morning.

Finally, between 8pm on Friday and 11.30pm on Sunday a red Peugeot 306 was damaged while parked at Meadowbank, Kirkwall.
