Police report no suspicious circumstances after body found at pier

Police have found no suspicious circumstances in connection with the death of a man found at Kirkwall pier on Wednesday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 5.40am on Wednesday, 8 May, 2024, the body of a 50-year-old man was discovered in the water at Kirkwall Harbour, Orkney.

“His next of kin are aware.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
