Orkney’s ‘A’ badminton side suffered a 9-3 defeat to Caithness in December, can they turn that deficit around?

Orkney’s senior badminton players will have their work cut out if they are to make it a hat-trick of Orkney inter-county badminton victories, with the ‘A’ side set to face Caithness in the second leg of the annual senior inter-county this weekend.

Caithness hold a 9-3 advantage from the first leg, leaving Orkney it all to do at the KGS on Saturday, but Orkney will be hopeful that home support could spur them onto what would be a magnificent victory.

Orkney’s young badminton players produced a delightful double over Shetland last weekend as the under-13 side dominated their opponents, winning 34-2, while the under-18 side won 14-10.

Caithness were unable to field a ‘B’ team for the return leg, meaning that only the ‘A’ match will be played on Saturday.

The match is scheduled to start at 1pm.
