NHS Orkney is urging folk to stay a safe distance from those outwith your household, as the county records another 33 COVID-19 cases.

Over 100 cases have now been attributed to Orkney during the last three days, though some are understood to be the result of a backlog in reporting figures.

An NHS Orkney spokeswoman said, this afternoon: “We are continuing to manage the cases and ask that you follow the guidance.

“If meeting up indoors please ensure good ventilation is kept at all times, if possible try to stay a safe distance from those outwith your household. As well as wearing face coverings and regular hand washing.”

The COVID Assessment Centre remains open this weekend for anyone seeking a PCR test.

If you develop any Covid symptoms, isolate immediately with your household and book a PCR test by calling 01856 888211.

If you test positive via a lateral flow test please also self isolate immediately with your household and book a PCR test.
