A new headteacher has been appointed at Stromness Primary School.

Neil McIntosh, currently principal teacher at St Andrews Primary School, will take up his post in January 2014.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr McIntosh said: “I am thrilled and delighted to have been appointed the headteacher of Stromness Primary School. It’s exciting times at Stromness Primary with a fantastic state of the art new building providing outstanding learning opportunities.

“I am really looking forward to working alongside such a hard-working and dedicated team of staff, parents and pupils in a community in which I already feel at home.”
