Three Orkney nominations for Scots Trad Awards

Three Orkney artists/events have been nominated for prizes in this years MG ALBA Scottish Traditional Music Awards, which are now open for public vote.

The Orkney Folk Festival is in the running for Event of the Year, sponsored by Visit Scotland, while Birsay fiddler, Kristan Harvey has been nominated for Up and Coming Artist of the Year, sponsored by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Fiddle player/teacher Douglas Montgomery has been shortlisted for the Music Tutor of the Year award, sponsored by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative.
