Twenty-third annual science festival gets under way

One of Britain’s leading documentary filmmakers is to open this year’s Orkney International Science Festival.

Alan Ereira will launch the programme of events, running from today, Thursday, until September 11, bringing with him a new film in which people from a lost city in South America open up a dialogue with western scientists.

The film is to be previewed here, before its general release to the public.
