Vote for your sporting performance of 2017

As the Orkney Sports Awards edge ever closer, this year will see another award added to the mix.

With the shortlist announced in The Orcadian this week, twenty-eight individuals and teams, covering nine categories are in contention for awards on Friday, January 19 at Kirkwall Grammar School.

This year however, will see another award up for grabs — one chosen by the Orkney public.

A Performance of the Year Award — awarded to an individual or team, who produced an outstanding sporting performance in 2017 — will be run as an online poll on The Orcadian website, with the winner announced on the night.

The poll is now live, with the public invited to vote for the performance they believe is worthy of special recognition.

The poll will run until midnight on Wednesday, January 17.
