Idlewild to play Orkney Theatre

Scottish indie rock band, Idlewild will play in Orkney’s new theatre it has been announced, as part of a tour of the Highlands and Islands this October.

The tour takes place in anticipation of their eighth studio record (to be released in 2015), and the Orkney gig will take place on Saturday, October 11.

The shows — their first in four years — will take an acoustic, stripped back format, befitting the intimate and often unique venues on the tour  schedule.

The concerts will give the band the chance to explore their back catalogue, to try out new songs and ideas, and to have some fun playing music around “this beautiful part of Scotland.”

Full band electric shows will accompany the album release in 2015.
