Westside edge St Ola in inter-island cup clash
Shetland reclaimed the Inter-Island Parish Cup this afternoon, with Shetland Parish Cup holders Westside beating their Orkney counterparts St Ola in a 15-goal thriller at the KGS 3G pitch.
The two sides could not be separated going into the interval, with the scoreline standing at 3-3 after an exciting first half.
St Ola netted two quick goals to go 5-3 up early on after the restart, before Westside scored four goals without reply to go into a commanding 7-5 lead.
The match looked to be heading for extra-time when St Ola scored twice in the last five minutes, but Westside netted with nearly the last kick of the ball to ensure the trophy would be heading to Shetland.
Steven Tulloch and Graham Shearer both claimed hat-tricks for St Ola, with Seamus Mackay also getting on the scoresheet for the hosts.
