The champion horse of the yard at this year’s Dounby Show was Billy o’ Cruan, a five-year-old Cob, shown by the Reids of Cruan Riding School, Grimbister, Firth.

Earlier in the day the horse, shown by Kelly Reid, won the ridden pony section.

Judge Susan Ravenshear, from Huntly, said: “It was just a beautifully moving horse, very correct for his type, and very forward going.”

Standing overall reserve was the champion Shetland, Millquoy Dancing Queen, a seven-year-old yeld mare, shown by J. & M. Slater.

A previous County Show horse of the yard, she was sired by Drum Director and out of the dam Millquoy Drummie’s Dancer.
