Deadline looming for aircraft design entries

loganair-tailfin-compwebThe deadline for Orkney school pupils to submit designs to be emblazoned on the tail-fins of Loganair’s inter-island aircraft is fast approaching.

Schools have until next Friday, 30 September, to send their creative artwork to the airline’s headquarters.

Winning entries will be printed onto each of the Britten Norman Islander aircraft’s tail-fins with the contest open to all primary and junior high school pupils.

Organised in partnership with Orkney Islands Council and The Orcadian newspaper, the competition is based around a ‘my island’ theme to give pupils a steer when planning illustrations.

Loganair’s managing director, Jonathan Hinkles said: “With the deadline looming the competition we’re calling out to schools across the islands to make sure they get their designs over by next Friday.

“So far, the standard of submissions has been extremely high so the judging process is definitely going to be exciting. I think I speak for everyone involved when I say we’re very much looking forward to seeing the winning entry on the side of both aircraft.”
