Dedication service for Birsay kirk window

A dedication ceremony for a new stained glass window in the St Magnus Church, in Birsay, takes place this afternoon, Tuesday.

The Rev Graeme Brown will dedicate a window made by stained glass artist Shona McInnes.

The artist will give an illustrated talk on the making of stained glass and and there will be an opportunity throughout the afternoon to see some of the materials used in the making of “the Birsay window’’ and photographs taken at various stages of the work.

Visitors will also be able to speak to the artist about her work.

The dedication ceremony will take place at 2pm, with the talk by Shona McInnes beginning at 2.15pm.
