Fingers crossed for Stromness RBL Pipe Band

Fingers are being crossed for members of the Stromness RBL Pipe Band, who are hoping to be crowned grade 3B European Champions at the European Pipe Band Championships in Forres, Moray today.

The band will compete along with 96 other bands from all over Scotland, Eire and Northern Ireland.

The event is anticipated to be one of the biggest in Moray to take place in recent years.

Ian MacDonald, band Secretary said: “The Band is looking forward to this year’s European Championship, as it’s not only the first time we will be competing in these championships, but also in the higher grade at grade 3B.

“It is great to have the championships at Forres — so close to home, we could not resist.”
